PLASCHEMA Hosts Stakeholders Meeting to Discuss CBHI Baseline Survey and Framework Development
The Plateau State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (PLASCHEMA) today convened a stakeholders meeting at Sarau Event Centre in Jos, Plateau State, to discuss the baseline survey for Community-Based Health Insurance (CBHI). The event brought together critical stakeholders from the health sector, including representatives from the World Health Organization (WHO), National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), and National Association of Nigerian Nurses, and Midwives (NANMN). In his remarks, the Director-General of PLASCHEMA, Dr. Solomon Kwande Dakwal, emphasized that the meeting's objective was to bring stakeholders together to discuss the baseline survey tool and develop a better framework for providing healthcare to the people of Plateau State. He expressed confidence that the questionnaire to be administered to communities would help develop a policy document guiding the implementation of Community-Based Insurance. Dr. Dakwal also appreciated His Excellency, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, for providing financial support for the project. The Plateau State Commissioner of Health, Dr. Nicholas Ba'amlong, commended PLASCHEMA for the initiative and emphasized the importance of the baseline survey in achieving tangible results. He noted that the tools to be used would help add value to healthcare initiatives in the state. During the interactive session, Julfa Jude Nden, the Director of Planning, Research and statistics who championed the discussion, highlighted the significance of the baseline survey for facilities. Representatives from various professional bodies contributed ideas, providing valuable insights that would enhance the framework for CBHI implementation. The meeting marked a significant step towards improving healthcare delivery in Plateau State. By engaging stakeholders and developing a robust framework for CBHI implementation, PLASCHEMA is poised to make a positive impact on the state's healthcare system.
